Why You feel Sleepy After A Meal?

Sleepy

Most of the people fall asleep after a good healthy meal and take it as How the life Works, actually there is more to this fact.

The phenomenon of feeling sleepy is directly related to the amount of sugar you intake per meal. Sugar inducts insulin in your body which  in return converts the sugar in your  blood into cellular form.

Consuming chunky amounts of sugar also activates Serotonin in your brain.
In  layman Language: Your brain activates the neurons to initiate feelings of pleasure and relaxation, the same neurons are responsible for your everyday mood and also your kinky level.

Increased production of Insulin and Serotonin results in sleepiness and as humans are quite inclined towards such sensations we approve the whole ongoing process and easily fall asleep. Its all your brain, psychologically you can even get sleepy after looking at plenty of yawning images or in which people are sleeping or very tired.

How can you break the viscous unwanted-sleeping circle ?

  • Keep your body hydrated, dehydration is catalyst to sleepiness, drink plenty of water as it will keep your enzymes neutralized and you will feel more active and fresh

  • Of course restrict sugar in your food, specially dinner.  Sugar only converts into energy when you involve yourself into some typical physical activity, until then it keeps you lazy and sleepy
